A lot of people are content with mentally assenting to the things that they hear about God -especially how powerful He is and how He changes lives drastically. When it comes to the experiential things, however, they are not as inclined to seek it out.
It is one thing to hear a good message, but quite another for the message to make its presence felt in your body. In the former case you will agree with the message but in the latter case, the message will be undeniable.
For example, it is one thing to know that the Holy Spirit lives inside of you, and quite another to break forth in unknown tongues and thus pray with ease. Now it makes undeniable sense when it is said that the Holy Spirit helps us to pray when we ourselves do not know how to pray.
The supernatural breaks through barriers of doubt and apathy.
Another example is that the presence and power of God are often spoken about. Yet, when the weight of God’s glory rests on you, and you feel your physical body fail to carry it and therefore you fall down under that power, you will know what it means when God’s presence is next spoken about.
If we will be honest, the dryness and apathy within our hearts as concerns things of God are because we have not experienced the supernatural- the manifest presence of God.
When you feel God’s presence physically in your body, there will be no need to persuade you about the things of God. You will pray fervently, love passionately, preach authoritatively, and testify unceasingly.
Your own reverence for God will compel you.
