International Finance guru joins Agency for Transformation’s diverse Board

Lina Iyok is now a board member at the Agency for Transformation (AFT), a think and do tank working with smallholder farmers to transform East Africa.

She is a Master in Public Administration (MPA) degree holder, an Edward S. Mason Fellow from the Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government. She is interested in and has over 13 years of experience in Economic Development focusing on private sector development through promoting SME growth, access to credit, economic competitiveness and improving investment climate in developing countries. Her MPA degree and private sector background is a valuable resource in the development field. Prior to studying at Harvard, Lina worked for the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank),the premier trade and export development finance institution in Africa. At Afreximbank, Lina managed a diverse portfolio of clients across Africa focusing on Structured Trade Finance, Syndications, Export development finance, while ensuring that these firms were not only competitive, but also operated in competitive economies. Before joining Afreximbank, Lina held several positions with the Wholesale Banking department at Standard Chartered Bank, Cameroon.Lina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from University of Leicester, UK and a Masters in International Business from University of London (Birkbeck College).

In a discussion , Morrison Rwakakamba revealed that having the caliber of Lina is key to the development of AFT. Morrison  is the Chief Executive Office of AFT. He noted that he met Lina at Havard while he pursuing the “Edward S. Mason Program”.  Recently, he resigned from Government duties and went to focus on the organization and personal work.

Other board members include Amos Zikusooka – Chairman of the board, Clare Akamanzi, Dan Kajungu, Onesmus Mugyenyi, Mainza Mugoya, Robert Mukiza, Henry Kinyua, Tirome Mpaza and Andy Kristian.

Andy Kristian also recently joined in the same week. He is the Founder of Hiinga. Andy spends most of the  time Charlotte, North Carolina.
