Have a wonderful November

November is here and I’m still kind of in denial? Like, how?

It’s been such a long and short year simultaneously – something I can’t quite remember feeling/saying about any year before this.

Last month I was all about trying just one thing for 31 days. Did you try it? Have you tried before? How did it go? (Yes, please tell me?)

On my end? Well, I planned to work out for 31 days straight and I had a success rate of about 71% (*Cheers self*  ) Some days were incredibly hard, others I just pretended I had ‘forgotten’ but most times, I pushed myself even when I didn’t feel like it and it paid off. For me, it was mostly training for the mind and body on making a commitment and sticking to it, forming habits and the discipline that comes with it. I don’t plan to work out daily every month but I can now schedule fewer days and stick to them because I know (with evidence) that it’s possible.

It also does come with a sense of accomplishment too. When things get even more difficult, you can stop and say “Wait a minute! I did it the last time, I can do it again.” This is from my work out experience but can be said for so many other habits we form or kick out.

The year is fast approaching an end and there can be anxiety from not accomplishing your goals. It can be fueled further by watching other people ‘win’ especially since their wins are now readily available for you to ‘view.’ The general doom and gloom from watching the news or scrolling social media doesn’t quite help matters

AND YET…

You are still here and you are still trying. Not everything is working but some things are. There is progress no matter how (seemingly) small. Let’s take a minute to celebrate that

Okay. Let’s continue.

Where you are struggling, slipping, giving up, I pray that you find strength; that your faith and courage trounce the fear+anxiety. I hope you find time to take stock, retreat and reflect in the next few weeks. I hope you forgive yourself for not knowing what you didn’t know before you learned it; that you give yourself grace for the parts of you, of your journey that still seem messy and incomplete.

May you let go of that which is holding you back and leave space for all the trapped light longing to come in.

Have a wonderful November
