      THE SHADOWS OF SHIWA NG’ANDU

      Omniscient Narrator

It was a sunny day, and the sky was a brilliant blue, with only a few puffy white clouds drifting lazily across the horizon. The sun shone brightly, casting a warm glow over the landscape. Kyalusaya and Tawo stepped off the bus and onto the sunbaked earth, surrounded by air filled with the sweet scent of blooming wildflowers and the earthy smell of freshly plowed fields. The temperature was pleasant, with a gentle breeze carrying the warmth of the sun, and sounds of nature were vibrant, with birds chirping and insects buzzing. The landscape stretched out as far as the eye could see. Chileshe, their guide, greeted them with a warm smile at the bus station. “Welcome, my friends! I’m Chileshe, your guide for this journey. We’re headed to the breathtaking Shiwa Ng’andu Lake.” As they began their walk towards the lake, the scenery unfolded before them, with the promise of adventure and discovery.

As I stood at the edge of the dusty bus station, I watched Kyalusaya and Tawo step off the bus, their eyes scanning the horizon for a glimpse of the vast expanse. I greeted them with a warm smile, eager to share the secrets of my homeland. “Welcome, my friends! I’m Chileshe, your guide for this journey. We’re headed to the breathtaking Shiwa Ng’andu Lake, a gem nestled in the heart of Muchinga. But be warned, our adventure might take an unexpected turn.”

      Tawo’s Pov (Second Person)

As you followed Kyalusaya off the bus, with your eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of the lake, the sun beat down on you, and you felt a trickle of sweat run down your forehead. You gazed out at the endless landscape, feeling a thrill of excitement and trepidation. Chileshe’s words echoed in your mind: “Our adventure might take an unexpected turn.” You couldn’t help but wonder what lay ahead. You glanced over at Kyalusaya, who was already lost in the moment, her eyes shining with curiosity. There was something about this place that didn’t feel right. What were you getting yourself into?

      Kyalusaya’s Pov (First Person)

As I stepped off the bus, I stood at the edge of the dusty bus station, the warm sun enveloping me, and the sweet scent of blooming wildflowers filling my lungs. I felt a surge of excitement and anticipation, watching Chileshe greet us with a warm smile. “Welcome, my friends!” he said, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. I was eager to explore this new place and uncover its secrets. My artist’s eye roamed over the landscape, taking in the vibrant colors and textures. I turned to Tawo, who was watching me with a quiet smile.”Shall we begin our adventure?” I asked, my voice barely containing my enthusiasm.
