ESUUBI, a new drama film directed by our own Hosea Ty Adroa and written & produced by Congolese filmmaker Ombeni Katige. The film, which was shot entirely on location in Uganda, promises to be a moving tale that combines technology, selflessness, and the human spirit.
ESUUBI follows the gripping journey of a broke but brilliant teenage coder whose life takes a devastating turn when her father slips into a coma. With bills mounting and hope fading, she’s forced to gamble her dignity, relationships, and future for his survival. Just when things seem darkest, an opportunity for a life-changing tech breakthrough emerges but there’s a catch: she must make it to Kampala before time runs out.
ESUUBI translates as HOPE in Luganda. Will this film show us hope for this young girl and her father or will she turn out hopeless?
The cast is a star-studded lineup featuring Simon Base Kalema, Vanessa Zalwango, Blair Koono, Denis Kinani, and others.
Produced under Jireh Media and HD Universe UG, ESUUBI is set for release around November 2025, although the exact date is yet to be confirmed. I will share more details when they are ready
