As a Christian, you are not just another freak fraternizing with a fringe outfit. Neither are you a weak object of spineless stature to be pitied.
You are not and cannot be these things. They are just labels that the world wants to plaster over your back. They badly wish that they were true — that you were this manufactured creation of their disbelieving minds — but this will never happen because, contrary to their imagination, you are something entirely different.
What you carry is everything the world wishes to have but definitely and decidedly lacks. The things you move in effortlessly — joy, peace, and purpose — are everything the world works so hard to make an appearance of having, but time reveals that they never had it at all. It was all a farce.
Beneath their bright lights of never-ending fanfare, loud displays, and superficial charm are depressive voids, unnerving entrapments, and chaotic entanglements. Of course, it makes sense that in the absence of actual substance, their presentation would be so elaborate!
In the meantime, they would never concede that your simple, unadorned existence carries all the praise, purpose, and power they desperately seek. That is why they mock, attack, belittle, undermine, and disparage you.
You are forever an enigma to those who do not have what you carry. They do not understand what is at work within them when they encounter your presence. They do not understand why they are challenged, convicted, and perplexed. It was never you, but the Holy Spirit living inside of you.
Because of the Holy Spirit within you, you are a firm, upright elect of repute to be envied — a flavoring salt of utmost necessity, a saturating yeast of expanding influence, and an exposing light of unignorable brilliance.
You are a city on a hill — poised high above for everyone to see. God would not set you that high, calling such targeted attention to yourself, if He was not unmistakably sure of what you carry inside of you. He knows that you carry Him.
Now, stop cowering under the empty threats and labels of the world and take your place!
