FILM PRODUCERS’ MASTERCLASS CLOSES

Yesterday marked the conclusion of a powerful four-day Film Producers Masterclass facilitated by renowned Nigerian producer Chris Odeh. The workshop brought together aspiring and established producers eager to refine their craft and gain practical knowledge from seasoned industry professionals.

Participants had the opportunity to learn from a rich lineup of speakers, including celebrated Ugandan filmmakers Usama Mukwaya, Matthew Nabwiso, and Humphrey Nabimanya, alongside the lead facilitator Chris Odeh. The sessions delved deep into the realities of film producing, sharing practical insights, success stories, and hard-earned lessons from the frontlines of African cinema.

This masterclass was more than just theory; it was a space for inspiration, exchange, and networking. Attendees left with new knowledge and tools that will undoubtedly elevate their projects and strengthen the film production landscape in Uganda.

Organised by Sauti+ Media and Reach A Hand Uganda, in collaboration with the National Producers Guild of Uganda, AfroMobile and other partners, the event was hosted at the Reach A Hand headquarters in Lungujja. It ended on a high note with the awarding of certificates to participants who successfully completed all four days of the intensive training.

The energy, collaboration, and ideas sparked during the workshop reflect a growing wave of professionalism and unity within Uganda’s film industry. The hope is that this momentum continues to drive better storytelling, stronger productions, and a thriving creative economy.
