UNDERNEATH THE WEEKEND

Hola,

Recently, I had a glimpse at the Yenze Hip Hop Festival and I must say; Uganda’s Hip Hop has come a long way with some of the industry’s big names still clinching on and representing. The likes of GNL Zamba, Navio, Ruyonga and Big Trill to mention a few. To some, Hip Hop is about expression through rhymes and rhythms, while to others it’s more of poetic justice aligned with a beat. Speaking of Music, here is one event you ought to attend;

For those who do not know what Beatboxing is; it’s the art of mimicking music instruments using your mouth, lips, tongue and voice. This technique is considered as the “Fifth element” of Hip-Hop music, nonetheless, it is not limited to Hip Hop only. THE KAMPALA CUP is a beatboxing competition that creates a stage for upcoming young stars to showcase their God given talents. Cash prizes up for grabs if you feel you’re a music producer with your vocals…Ha ha.

See y’all at Alliance Francaise De Kampala.

Nevertheless, what’s a brunch without fine tunes!!

THE WILD ONE has cooked up an eventful treat for y’all, and they call it the BRUNCH IN THE WILD. Fort Portal this one’s for you. We all know what brunch has to offer to our taste buds, now picture embracing the culinary flavours in the wild, in the country side. Can you feel it?!

In addition to feasting in the wild, there are other funtivities to expect in Fort Portal come 19th July; horse riding, games, face painting, tattooing and most revellers’ all-time favourite – Karaoke. And oh, don’t forget to get yourself a BELL CITRUS as you eat off the brunch. 😉

This weekend, we’re embracing what Fort Portal has got to offer and without further ado; let’s go marathon running. There is a category of people that find bliss in attending and participating in marathons, my boss being one of them…Shhhh, you didn’t hear that from me. As I was saying; marathons boost one’s health including their immunity system, owing to the fact that you’re literally exercising. Mind you, it’s a cardio workout thus a plus for your blood factory (the heart). The FORT PORTAL CITY MARATHON is here to add a voice to healthy living and wellbeing.

After such a weekend, remember that we are closing in on the last quarter of the year and you know what that means. In Uganda, the last quarter of the year is for preparing for the festive season and celebrating the year’s wins. In a nutshell, more events tend to pour-in in the last quarter, so to my fellow revellers; let’s save that ka money. The party is meant to be eaten with one thing in mind, “You do not postpone happiness”.

Until next time, I remain…

Yours truly,

-ThiWordknight-
