Hola,
There is anew phrase in town “LIGHT” to supposedly refer to the new electricity service that replaced what we all used to know as “YAKA”. I was not fully aware of this until my grandma was telling me that our “Light” is over, little did I know she was referring to electricity after trying to correct her three times. Anyway Simon Peter also denied Jesus three times before accepting. Dear “LIGHT” I fully apologize for denying you before you leave me in the dark. Now that the apologies are out of the way, let’s see what hit our radar this week;
Hold up, one thing my grandma always tells me is that “enjoy every second of your life because this life on earth is for rent”. I carry that statement with me every single day. One of the perks of carrying that statement is; your energy is always at its high end and that’s the kind of energy that is needed at the Meraki Game Night. It’s the second season of the game nights and boy oh boy…I am packed n loaded to showdown some challenging broskies, no losses for me this time haha. Scan QR code to unravel more details. Hoping “yaka” will not interrupt that night, oh sorry I mean “Light”. But…
Did you know;
Mt Moroto was originally named “Moru To” meaning “the western mountain”, derived from the words “Moru” meaning mountain and “To” meaning west, this was so because during the migration of the native tribes who originated from Ethiopia, the mountain appeared to be in the west. In Uganda, it is located in the North East region in Moroto district (Karamoja region). It is surrounded by a forest reserve that serves as a protection mechanism for a range of natural habitats from thorny Savanna to dry montane forests. The Mt Moroto Adventure is an excursion for the hiking fanatics and for those that just love the wild, for me, it’s the journey. Some roadside chicken would do. 😉
There is a saying; “Getting to the destination doesn’t matter, it is the journey that counts”. Some of y’all enjoy roadside food purchases (Namawojjolo) more than getting to the destination. Well, the Wild Coffee Bar created some remarkable experiences that are etched in some of our memories in the five years of their existence. It is sad to see them say “goodbye” after all the smiles they put on people’s faces, the drinks they poured in our cups and the nights they painted ecstatic. Come let’s join The Last Dance for the last wiggle with the Wild Coffee Bar familia.
As we say goodbye to some physical memories, Christians too are preparing to say goodbye to the Lent season this year. The Sunday before Easter is known as Palm Sunday (the last Sunday of Lent) and in the Bible, this is the day Jesus entered Jerusalem triumphantly riding on the back of a donkey. Gospo Kikadde is a gospel show slated for 13th April at Kampala Serena Hotel, a night of praise and worship as we celebrate Palm Sunday. One thing about attending this show is that it was curated to generate support for Sanyu Babies’ Home which is an orphanage located in one of the suburbs of Kampala. So, you’ll not only be singing praise and worship but as well, be putting a coin in the pockets of the Orphanage. Call it an evening for the good cause.
It’s one thing to want to have a good time and it’s another to be able to afford it. You know what I mean. One day I went out with a couple of new friends I made, on getting to the establishment when ordering for our drinks, I nearly asked the waiter if the drinks they were ordering actually existed. My readers, it is safe to say I did not embarrass myself by asking, but I had to excuse myself from this lot of high rollers and order my Nile in discreet. With a bill valued to take care of my needs for a decade, I think I’ll be excusing myself from the events space till I can laugh at the face of the “economy” like my new pals did. Eh!!
But until then, I’ll remain…
Yours truly,
–ThiWordknight–
