Welcome to the twelfth episode of the #HustleTales podcast. With this podcast, we are focusing on telling the stories of African entrepreneurs and professionals, the hurdles they have jumped to make sure their undertaking stay afloat, the challenges they’ve experienced and how they dealt with them. In this episode, our guests are Keikantse (Attorney & Educator) and Kenanao (Marketing & Communications) Phele – sisters, passionate readers and Co-founders of The Gaborone Book Festival Trust (GBF), a non-profit organisation and was founded in late 2017 to share their love for reading with Batswana. The main objective is to encourage people of all ages to read for pleasure, with a keen focus on promoting engagement with the literary works of authors and storytellers from Botswana, as well as those from other African ccountries.
Listen in to learn about the Botswana creative scene, and the journey of Gaborone Book Festival – the only existing book festival in Botswana that further offers various literary platforms throughout the year apart from its flagship September book festival.
