Court issues arrest warrant for ASP Baguma

Baguma

Buganda road court Chief magistrate Jameson Kaleman Thursday issued a warrant of arrest to Aron Baguma, the former DPC of Kampala Central Police Station (CPS).

The arrest warrant was issued after the resident state attorney Jonathan Muwaganya told court that Baguma was on the run.

The embattled police officer had been expected to appear before court to answer charges of murder, kidnap and aggravated robbery.

He’s jointly charged with eight others, including Muhammad Ssebuwufu, the proprietor to pine car bond where a city business woman Donah Katushabe is said to have been beaten, tortured leading to her eventual death in October 2015.

It’s alleged that Katushabe was arrested by the police for defaulting on the payment of a loan balance of Shs 9m for a car she had purchased from Ssebuwufu. She was allegedly taken to pine car bond and handed over to Ssebuwufu.

The case has been adjourned to September 1, 2016.
